Quick Searches on Ovid Public Health Advantage

Quick Searches are search strategies created by experts on Global Health and Ovid HealthStar (part of MEDLINE). They are intended to be used as filters that quickly bring down the number of results you need to screen for your research. Combine these filters with your own topic of research or look at the structure of any of these filters to help design your own search strategy.

If search results are below 6000 records deduplication is applied, and for Quick Searches that yield many results there are limits to “recent years” and to “records with full text” applied to create a more manageable set of results. Naturally those lines can be removed as needed. For free text searching the QuickSearches mainly make use of .mp. searches, which Ovid’s default set of fields for unqualified searches limiting the search to relevant fields and thus avoid noise in the results.
