LWW Health Library

LWW Health Library provides a single point of access to clinical and educational content. The key medical texts are supplemented with additional materials for teaching, learning and practice. Designed to support educational programs in medical schools and teaching hospitals, the LWW Health Library modules are also important and key resources for further education in specific practice areas, such as oncology, surgery, emergency medicine, exercise science and occupational therapy.

Webinar: Introduction to LWW Health Library

The webinar will provide you with a systematic introduction to LWW Health Library. Focussing initially on the module Medical Education, the session will show you how to locate and search for relevant medical and clinical content as well as supplementing, additional materials useful for teaching, learning and practice. Using this “content and additional materials” approach, the session will then explore a selection of the practice area specific modules. In conclusion the session will show you how text and images can be re-used as well as how learning can be enhanced using the practice area specific self-assessment tests.

GIDEON

GIDEON is used to identify, prevent and educate on infectious diseases. It is considered the foremost resource for those working in this critical and fast-moving area. The database offers up-to-date information and visual aids for diagnosing diseases and follows the latest trends in epidemiology and treatment. GIDEON contains over 430,000 references, 30,000 graphics and 4,000 images and describes aprox 400 diseases that are documented in over 200 countries.

In this webinar, we will provide you with an overview of GIDEON (Global Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology Online Network). A brief introduction is followed by a closer look at the workflow and navigation. We start by showing the integrated differential diagnosis tool, the ability to compare diseases, view the latest outbreak information, and how to review the infectious diseases in every country of the world. The course will complete with a short-summarized overview of the Microbiology module.
