Background

The words and phrases that we use to describe sexuality and gender have blossomed over recent years. This might be due to changes in societal attitudes or in the changing status of people who are part of these groups. Broad categories in MeSH include “Sexual and gender minorities” that has grown and changed in 2018 – view the history to see how the list has changed. Sexuality has not changed as much, but terms associated with changing gender, or gender identity may have. These terms may be used when seeking out information about healthcare for minority groups.
