Background
This search locates records about tsunamis, tidal waves and earthquakes and types of disaster planning. Earthquakes beneath the sea, or near the shore are often accompanied by destructive waves.
All the MeSH terms (followed by /) in the search are established subjects, but the keyword elements (.mp.) use the question mark truncation symbol (?) to disguise whether the word or phrase may be singular or plural (by including an “S” suffix). The $ or * truncation symbol is also used as unlimited truncation, so aftershock$ matches with aftershock or aftershocking.
Keyword searches use the author’s words from the title and abstract or author keywords (.ti,ab,kw.), as well as selected subjects fields from the database.
