Ovid Release - new Search Recovery feature

Dear Ovid Customer,

We're very pleased to announce that we're releasing a new Search Recovery feature on May 20, 2025. This will help you recover lost searches when your Ovid session ends abruptly or after a period of inactivity. Unless you click Log Off, Ovid will save the last search or search history edit. You can recover it within 72 hours, provided that you log into the same user account or personal account on the same browser.

If you log back into your account after losing a search, you'll see the following message in the top-right corner of the page. You can choose to ignore, close, or restore the search.

Searches recovered within 6 hours of the initial loss will be quicker because Ovid saves the search results along with the search strategy. Searches recovered after this initial 6-hour window and before 72 hours will take longer, especially if there is a large search strategy, because Ovid will rerun the search.

If your institution or account uses the old Session Recovery feature (compatible only with legacy individual user accounts) and you would like to keep using the old feature, please email Customer Support at [email protected]. The primary differences are that Search Recovery works with multi-user and PIN accounts, is limited to 72 hours, and doesn't follow the user from browser to browser.

If you have any questions, your local Ovid representative will be glad to help. Feel free to reach out to your account representative or contact the team at [email protected].

Regards,

Wolters Kluwer - Ovid
