Ovid Term Finder Release

Dear Ovid Customer:

As we continue to improve the Ovid platform, we are pleased to announce a new Ovid Advanced Search feature, Term Finder, which we will make available at 8 AM EDT on 4 May 2022 (view your local time). Term Finder helps you access key information as you construct your search without having to leave the Advanced Search page.

You’ll see an Expand Term Finder button on the Advanced Search page only when searching Ovid APA PsycInfo.

Clicking  opens an overlay window that enables you to easily find terms and add them to your search, or copy to the clipboard without having to cycle through multiple pages. Term Finder does not affect any existing workflows on Ovid. Instead, it helps you discover terms and construct complex searches.

Key features in Term Finder include:

• Mapped APA Results
• Interactive APA browser
• Definitions from Stedman’s Medical Dictionary
• Related Terms from the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS)
• Add to search functionality

Important note for system administrators: With the release of Ovid Term Finder, we have updated the instructions for firewall / proxy administrators, to ensure performance and access to the Ovid platform are optimized.
