Annual Ovid MEDLINE Reload: Final MEDLINE Update Scheduled – December 2019

Annual Ovid MEDLINE Reload: Final MEDLINE Update Scheduled

Dear Ovid MEDLINE customer:

We are preparing for the annual global data reload of MEDLINE. As in past years, the National Library of Medicine (NLM®) will end their 2019 distribution of updates to make the transition to the 2020 version of MeSH®; the final NLM uptake happened on December 3, 2019. The MEDLINE In-Process & Other Non-Indexed Citations updates will resume shortly after this and continue throughout the full reload process.

In accordance with the NLM schedule, the November Week 5 2019 update will be the last 2019 update and will be available to Ovid MEDLINE subscribers on December 4, 2019.

The NLM is expected to complete their reload in mid-December. We will keep you informed on the production of our 2020 edition of MEDLINE accordingly.

Important note for users who currently have an AutoAlert saved on Ovid for MEDLINE
While the NLM performs its annual data maintenance, no new fully indexed status MEDLINE records are added and will therefore be missing from AutoAlert results. NLM will continue to index citations, but these completed status MEDLINE records will be held until the normal update schedule resumes. The NLM expects the normal MEDLINE update schedule to resume mid-December 2019. Ovid AutoAlerts at that time will include new status MEDLINE records added since the previous update. AutoAlerts that include ePub Ahead of Print and In-Process results will run as normal, depending on what the NLM supply during their year-end processing activities.

If you have any questions during this time, please contact us at [email protected].

Regards,

Wolters Kluwer – Ovid
