Ovid Content Experience
Dear Ovid Customer:
In June 2018, we launched a new way to view Ovid journal articles that we refer to as Ovid Content Experience. Our goal was to help accelerate our users’ ability to get the content they need with as little interference as possible, and further enhance their research by suggesting additional related articles.
Since that launch, our team has continued to refine the Ovid Content Experience. We have received feedback both directly from customers and users, that has helped us focus on new developments that will have a solid impact for all our customers.
To that end, we are pleased to announce our latest Ovid Content Experience release (available on March 13, 2019) includes a new journal browse functionality. This is a much-requested feature that provides greater context around journal articles, and gives users more options to choose from when viewing content. The first iteration of journal browse contains the following:
We’re continuing to refine the journal browse as well, with a second iteration coming soon that will allow users to search by journal title and ISSN.
Currently, the Ovid Content Experience is available for both HTML and PDF jumpstarts, and has been rolled out to approximately 75% of Ovid customers. We’re working on enabling further support for the view to the rest of our customers (including those who use OpenAthens and Shibboleth) later this year.
