Enhancements to Article PDF Viewing
Dear Ovid Customer:
Next week, we will be bringing you and your users a new and improved way to view and interact with select Ovid journal content. This new reading experience will deliver journal articles much faster, be more mobile friendly, and add helpful functionality such as related articles.
The enhancement will appear for any PDF article links (jumpstarts) to Ovid from another platform (HTML links coming soon). Searching or navigating within Ovid (from Ovid search results or navigating Journals@Ovid) will remain unchanged and the new experience will not affect any other functionality within Ovid. You will always have the option of returning to the existing Ovid article view at any time.
Below is a preview of what the new reading experience will look like.
While we believe that the new format will deliver an improved article reading experience, we of course want to make sure we are delivering you and your users the best overall experience possible.
Have you Updated your Firewall and Proxy Settings?
In October, we contacted you regarding changes that needed to be made before January 1st, 2018 to your firewall or proxy servers, to ensure uninterrupted access to Ovid content. If these changes have not been made, it will impact the PDF viewing enhancements mentioned above.
For your reference, the two options are listed below. Please forward this information to your network administrators as needed. We also encourage you to review this list (http://www.ovid.com/site/support/tech_support.jsp#tabs6) now and periodically to ensure you’ve accounted for all the necessary URLs.
Option 1 (Recommended): Add exceptions for the URLs below using wildcards.
Option 2: Add exceptions for the specific URLs below.
